Employer recognition programs provide official acknowledgment to employers that provide certain benefits. This type of program improves the image of an employer in the community and also serves as advertising and generates good public relations. It also communicates our genuine appreciation for competitive employment for the people we support.
In saying this, we are pleased to announce that the Babcock Center will be honoring community employers with the:
ICARE Employer of the Quarter Award
The Babcock Center’s Vocational Advisory Committee invites you to nominate local employers for the ICARE Employer of the Quarter Award.
The ICARE Employer of the Quarter Award will be presented every third month to local employers who recognize the skills and contributions that people with disabilities bring to the workforce and who have adopted inclusive policies and hiring practices that allow people with disabilities to fairly compete for employment. All nominees will be considered and the winner will be recognized at their place of business with a plaque for their practices and support for the full inclusion of people with lifelong disabilities in the workplace and in their community.
- Has recently hired or has maintained an on-going or long-standing record of hiring individuals with disabilities
- Promotes employment for individuals with disabilities
- Provides opportunities for employees with disabilities for ongoing skill development and advancement
- Supports and creates opportunities for the full participation and inclusion of employees with disabilities
Quarterly Nomination Dates need to be submitted as follows:
First Quarter: July 1st through September 30th (Nominations due on the last working day of September)
Second Quarter: October 1st through December 31st (Nominations due on the last working day of December)
Third Quarter: January 1st through March 31st (Nominations due on the last working day of March)
Fourth Quarter: April 1st through June 30th (Nominations due on the last working day of June)
All nominations for each quarter are due by the last working date of that ending quarter’s month.
Award presented as Follows:
First Quarter Winner: Board Meeting in October
Second Quarter Winner: Board Meeting in January
Third Quarter Winner: Board Meeting in April
Forth Quarter Winner: Board Meeting in July
ICARE Employment Leadership Award
Nominations are taken in conjunction with our annual Employee Awards and the recipient will be presented their award at our employee banquet.
Nomination Forms are available here, at all Work Activity Centers or through our Human Resources Department and can be submitted by any Babcock Center employee, supported individual or family member or others that recognize the value that able workers with disabilities bring to the workplace.
