It is always challenging as families and individuals face overwhelming changes in their lives after experiencing Head and spinal cord injuries.

At Babcock Center, we work closely with ThinkFirst, a granted program through the HASCI division of the Department of Disabilities and Special Needs Board. ThinkFirst is a national injury prevention program that seeks to prevent people from sustaining traumatic brain injuries.

  • Along with Think First, Babcock Center provides Phoenix Center programming striving to provide opportunities for people that expand their horizons and allow them to see themselves beyond the injury they have sustained.
Phoenix Center

This program runs Tuesday and Thursday offering group activities and opportunities for the participants to be out and in the community. Phoenix Center activities range from weekly group discussions to volunteering in the community. We have a weekly route with Meals on Wheels and often spend time helping out at Harvest Hope, Transitions, City of Columbia Animal Shelter, and creating various gifts and cards for local veterans.
